New Developments at the Spice Lodge

On Thursday 1st March Mohammed Rahman invited customers and others who have supported Spice Lodge to a selection of amazing canapés, a buffet lunch and wine/Prosecco.

Mohammed said “I want to thank you all for your support in 2017 and for braving the cold weather, and to thank those who have texted good wishes, but were unable to come because of the snow.”   The event was also attended by Zulqar Nain, Assistant High Commissioner, Bangladesh, Councillor Klara Sudbury Mayor of Cheltenham and Michael Ratcliffe, Chief Executive of the Chamber of Commerce.  They all had a special message for Mohammed and Spice Lodge.  Sadly Alex Chalk MP wasn’t able to make it but in a letter said “ I would like to pay tribute to yours and your team’s contribution to Cheltenham’s restaurant scene and the wider local community.  Spice Lodge has become a renowned and long-standing institution. Long may it continue to flourish.”

Following this Mohammed announced a new Partnership with three associates, Momin, Pramod and Executive Chef “Ram Jalasutram” from London.  Prior to coming to Cheltenham Ram has worked at the Dorchester with Alain Ducasse where they, as Head Chef and Sous Chef,  won 3 Michelin stars, also at Gleneagles, Scotland, as Executive Resort Head Chef and was named as Associate Member of Master Chefs of Great Britain 2017.  While at Pennyhill Park as Head Chef he won, and maintained 1 Michelin star and 3AA Rosettes.

Mohammed said: “As you know I am always trying to bring something new to Cheltenham.   In an effort to upgrade our quality, take the restaurant to the next level and increase your enjoyment.  I believe this new partnership will do just that. I will now ask Head Chef Ram to explain the food to you.”

“We have many plans to introduce new tastes, styles and an innovative presentation of classic dishes with a modern twist, to compliment and upgrade the existing menu.   Today you will be the first to sample these canapés and a buffet style lunch.
