Went to try out the spice lodge indian restaurant in cheltenham on sunday with close friends and family, and very glad we decided to try out this one.

Excellent choice of different indian dishes on the menu, lots of different currys to try out also from very light to the extreme hot if you are a daredevil curry eater. I had the chicken madras which was excellent. Very well cooked through with spices and very good sauce also. This is a hot one though so you have been warned if you like to have a challenge on how hot a curry you would like to have ūüėČ also good selection of indian nibbles to start with example, poppodoms, naan breads, toasts, bahjis etc. You will be spoilt for choice.

Very nice dining room and bar also, with very nice relaxing indian background music to add to the atmosphere. I loved their chairs also very lovely antique looking ones to give it that extra touch. Great service and nothing is too much trouble to the staff if you have any questions about the food items on the menu. Would be going back to the spice lodge again when the opportunity comes. Visited July 2016

After winning a monthly competition run on facebook I visited the Spice Lodge tonight for the second time in a week. Will definitely be returning. The staff are very attentive and the food was amazing .myself and my friend were very happy with our food . The puddings were delightful. Lovely setting and very calm atmosphere. Suitable for couples and families. My previous visit was for a hen night on Saturday night. We used one of the function rooms and again the staff were very attentive and polite despite hen night banter. Would highly recommended The Spice Lodge to anyone. Visited August 2016

I had been to this restaurant last week with my colleague. The food was great and they also had wide variety of food options. The staff were very polite and helpful. This restaurant is in a historic building and is great for organising parties, events, etc. They also have a VIP dining room on the first floor which is very posh with rotating table in the centre bringing your choice of food in front of you. I would love to book my next office party in here to get a different experience. Visited August 2016

Indian and Thai menu, perhaps a limited choice on mains but to me that means they are all well prepared, and they were. Spicy fish was excellent, decent portion of fish in a very tasty sauce with a couple of shared sides gave a filling meal. Tandoori mixed grill also looked good. Very clean surroundings, good attentive service without being too much. Not expensive as the décor could suggest.

Our taxi driver recommended this restaurant to us, and we’re glad he did. Great menu, and excellent service. The food was very tasty and all four of us were impressed. I look forward to returning when I’m next in the area.
